Pete's Biography:
Peter A. Margaritis, CPA, CGMA is an author, blogger, speaker, educator, humorist, improviser, and podcaster. Partnering with the Business Learning Institute, his firm “The Accidental Accountant” teaches CPAs and other business leaders how to apply the seven principles of improvisation to build respect, trust and support with their colleagues and clients. He is the author of Improv Is No Joke: Using Improvisation to Create Positive Results in Leadership and Life.
Peter earned is his Bachelor’s in Business Administration from the University of Kentucky, a Master’s Degree in Accountancy from Case Western Reserve University and he is a licensed, non-practicing, CPA in Ohio. He has worked for companies such as Price Waterhouse, Victoria Secret Catalogue (not as a model), two large banking institutions and has managed restaurants in his day. Don’t be surprised – he is Greek. He was also an assistant professor of accounting and taught in the MBA program at Ohio Dominican University in Columbus, OH.
Peter is a member of the American Institute of CPAs, Georgia Society of CPAs, Maryland Association of CPAs, Ohio Society of CPAs, and the National Speakers Association. He is also the past chairman of the Ohio Society of CPAs executive board and a former delegate to the AICPA governing council.
